We’re grateful to our local community, which has grown to trust Roaring Brook Veterinary Hospital year after year to deliver the best veterinary care possible. While some pet owners have been coming to us for decades, some are new to the community and our veterinary hospital. To those new clients and prospective clients alike, we’d like to welcome you!

We’ve designed this page to provide an orientation for new clients, so that you can be as prepared as possible prior to your appointment and to ensure that your visit goes as smoothly and successfully as possible.

First time clients are encouraged to browse our website to familiarize themselves with our veterinary hospital and to fill our New Client Form at their earliest convenience. Filling out this form helps our veterinarians and staff familiarize ourselves with your pet’s medical history and prepare accordingly. Existing medical records can be sent to us, or we are happy to help facilitate getting these records transferred to us from a previous veterinarian.

If your pet’s previous medical records are readily available, please indicate the date and time of your upcoming appointment and fax them to (860) 693–1432 or email them to roaringbrookpet@gmail.com.

We want you and your pet to feel absolutely comfortable during your visit. We will greet you with a smile and a sense of calm. You can trust that we’ll personalize our care to meet the exact needs of your pet and to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible while you wait.


Faxing or emailing medical records before your visit will reduce the wait time you experience when first visiting our veterinary hospital. These records are important because they provide our veterinarians and veterinary staff with a comprehensive overview of the health of your pet and will ensure that we are informed about any previously existing medical conditions that may exist.

Arriving early allows us time to organize and further familiarize ourselves with your pet’s medical records. First time clients will need to have their pet’s info entered into our database and computer system, which allows us to create a detailed profile on the health of your pet.

Simply by faxing paperwork ahead of time and arriving 10 minutes early, you can ensure that your first visit will be a fantastic success and pleasant for both you and your pet.

Our convenient location off of Route 44 in Canton, Connecticut allows pet owners from Canton, Farmington, Hartford, West Hartford, Simsbury, Burlington, Torrington, Bristol, Avon and beyond to visit us for their every pet need, whether big or small.

We’ve also recently renovated our facilities to include a spacious lobby to ensure you’re comfortable while you wait. Our exam rooms offer advanced equipment and diagnostic technology for the benefit of your pet, and our medical boarding facilities ensure that your pet always has a relaxing and wonderful experience while here.
